The Essence of Wild Things
At the heart of the “Wild Things” concept is the celebration of genuine, unfiltered moments. It’s about capturing love in its purest form, free from constraints and pretense. While planning the session with N & G we chatted about what they love as a couple, and dirt biking came up. Apparently one of their favorite things to do together is hit the trails, so this setting for part two of their session made so much sense.
We picked a spot where my husband and I actually love walking our dogs. It’s in the middle of the woods and I’ve seen other dirt bikers riding there before, plus there are several big mud pits along the trail. Our session happened to be during a super rainy week, which was honestly perfect for us since it really amped up the mud on the trail.
Part Two: Unleashing Authenticity
I’ve been so excited to share part two of N & G’s Wild Things session, it was during this part that the magic truly unfolded. There’s just something about mud. We met up early in the morning for the best light (it turned out to be overcast and rainy, but better to plan for the best time either way) and after unloading the bikes they hit the trails. I made sure to wear my own boots and pants so I could follow along with them.
The next part of the session was my favorite. After they warmed up and rode through the mud a bit we decided it was time to play – and since they were fully embracing the “wild things” theme they really got into it. Keep scrolling to see N hit G with the biggest mud clump I’ve ever seen!
I know it’s not everyone’s jam to jump in the mud, but adventurous couples are 1000% my jam so trust me when I say this was the best thing ever. When is the last time you played in the mud? I don’t know why we lose this playfulness as adults, but I promise if you two can embrace it you’ll be glad.
Can you really beat muddy kisses in the middle of the woods?
Rain is a good thing
It started to rain at about this point, so we decided to go a little further into the woods so they could ride again. Honestly as much as people dread rain on their shoot days I’ve never really minded it, I think it adds a bit of romance (and I always have umbrellas we can use if you don’t want to be soaked), plus it’s an excuse to get closer together under the umbrella! (or on the bike, as you’ll see next)
The moral of the story? Let loose, get a little wild, play in the mud.
Stay Wild, xx
