Married couple runs together on a mountaintop in Asheville North Carolina

Are you Wild?

Are you wild? What does it truly mean to be wild? According to the trusted Webster dictionary, “wild” is defined as “living in a state of nature, without human control or restraint.” But what does this definition mean to us? Well, we’ve wholeheartedly embraced it and made it the essence of The Wild Elopement. Let us share our story and intention with you.

What is “Wild”?

Being wild is about fearlessly embracing your authentic selves and celebrating the uniqueness of your relationship. It’s about disregarding the opinions of others, rejecting outdated traditions, and shutting out any external judgments that don’t align with your love. Being wild means releasing all expectations and creating the perfect setting for your wedding day, where you can be fully present to embrace every moment as it unfolds. Picture exchanging vows on a mountaintop, in the intimate surroundings of a city hall, in the comfort of your own backyard, or even aboard a boat sailing into the endless horizon of the sea. Whether in a foreign land or any place that sparks joy in your hearts, being wild means choosing a location that thrills both you and your partner.

Furthermore, being wild involves selecting attire that truly speaks to your souls, casting aside societal norms and opting for what YOU and your partner genuinely love. It’s about being true to yourselves and designing a wedding experience that reflects your unique identities, providing countless beautiful opportunities to savor breathtaking moments together.

What does this mean to me?

The weight of tradition and societal expectations can be overwhelming for engaged couples as they navigate the wedding planning process, and it’s something that truly bothers me. While I appreciate the genuine concern and advice from our loved ones, weddings and relationships should never be confined to a one-size-fits-all mold. What excites me the most is when a couple fearlessly chooses a path that is authentically and uniquely their own, regardless of the chorus of voices around them. Love the person you love and do it your way!

Recently, I embarked on a personal project to delve into this very concept and collaborate with couples who possess an adventurous spirit and embrace the notion of being wild. I started with engagement sessions (weddings will follow, but they require more preparation), and the theme of these sessions is “Wild Things.” In the coming months, I’ll be sharing the stories and experiences of these remarkable couples who have bravely discarded tradition and expectation for their sessions. We’ll begin like many other sessions do, dressed up in formal attire against the backdrop of a beautiful location. But then, we’ll delve into the wild side. Unfiltered. Personalized to their unique journey. Join me on this journey to witness these incredible stories and perhaps discover that you, too, are a wild thing!

Stay wild, xx
